Not care about school

Hello, over the last 2 years I really just don't give a crap about school. I'm now in my last year of high school and I felt like the only useful thing I got out of the American educational system is my abc's and math with some basic history. I get fine grades and all most of the time. I'm tired of getting this college crap stuffed down my throat. It feels like the only purpose in high school is to get grades and high test scores it feels like I'm not learning anything I really do not care about school

dude..EVERYONE feels this way..and they do keep feeding you the same worthless bullshit!!!that's why a started taking general classes instead of college prep because i knew i just wanted to be a cosmetologist and fucking calculus was worthless to me!!all i needed was that stupid diploma to get started in beauty school.and even if you're still unsure about what you want to be after highschool, you don't necessarily NEED college education.just common sense and good business ideas and knowledge.read "Rich dad poor dad" he totally explains it..hang in there though.if you don't plan on going to college, my only suggestion is to drop your college prep classes, and to take general classes.this eliminates all the stress of hours of useless homework and more time to hang out with your friends and have free time..good luck man!!keep your head up.it's almost over!!

I hated High School too. Even though I had alot of girl pals I still felt that school was a big waste of time. They pretty much were teaching the same things I'd learned about in Middle and Junior High. I was bored out of my mind! I did love College though and just for personal note, when I went to college I didn't do my essentials right away. First thing I did was pick the classes I wanted, when I wanted them! It was so awesome. I was natural at some subjects but the ones I wasn't natural at I just set aside to address after a semester of fun, enlightening classes. I didn't care about grades, mentors, top of the line admissions, nothing. I just finally got the education I always wanted, I let myself have fun in college and it paid off. Now I have an A.A. in a field I love and am halfway through my double major and the mentors, grades and admissions sort of came in hand. I'm real inspired now and I still have fun. It was hard sometimes but unlike High School I learned what I wanted to and the hard work was worth it. So don't give up yet. Make it through your last year and if you want, start at a junior college or special interst College and if you want to apply to a top notch school go ahead. Do what you want after High school though. You've earned it!

Yes, the only point of school is for you to get good grades - but chill, because there IS a point of getting good grades, since they're handy to have on your resume.

Well, you're right. Half the shit they teach us in lessons like maths is just complicated versions of what we already knew.
in 5-10 years the stuff we know now will be practically useless.
But it's just what jobs require.
Unless you want to be serving fast food for the rest of your life, sure, give up now.

it's not a stoner thing. it's just a part of growing up. the more we learn, the more we recognize bs when we see it. i graduated two years ago. if i learned anything in HS, i don't remember it now.
