Not a sentimental journey

Ok so real quick, when i came home from the airport freshmen year in college for christmas my house was on fire. Yes, literaaly and everything burned to ash except my parents and our dog. True story. Since then I seem to cast no sentimental value to anything I own. In my book the object either works or it does not. I recylce and re-use as much as possible but is it normal to attach no sentimental value to anything?

I think it seems a very wise thing. I need to adopt this feeling for some of my silly possesions. Sorry about your shitty Xmas though.

    1. Sorry about your house.
    2. The only thing I attach sentimental value to are a few items I have of my dead sister.

      That is understandable.

In anything??? .. I don't object to your thought. It is smart... I think photos are important to have. Only of what is or was important in your life, cause i seem to forget alot of what's happened in my life... Photos help bring me back to a happier time.

It's not weird. The only thing I own that has sentimental value is my guitar. Bought it for a grand and started learning on it when I was 11. It's been 8 years and I've played thousands of songs on it, been in multiple bands, played many shows with it, wrote many songs on it. I played that fucker till my fingers bled many times. If that's not reason for sentimental value I don't know what is. If it got stolen I would probably cry and I NEVER cry.

I grew up poor, and still don't hold onto personal possessions much. I have literally nothing of sentimental value in my apartment.

I think the real question is- How did your house set on fire during the Christmas holiday season?

It could've been the tree they were using. Always get a fake tree. The materials may not be good for the environment but it's better for the long run. Real trees are dangerous and fire prone. There's also the Christmas lights to wonder about. How long were they on and where they over cut off? Leaving them on all the time could cause them to overheat and possibly spark. Factor in the sparks/overheating with a real tree and you get the answer to the equation. However, there could be alternative answers to this problem. Usually, firefighters tell them the cause.

Thats what I was thinking. This incident would be perfect in a mystery novel. Yep, fire on a christmas day, Its gold!

It makes sense. You've realised that material objects can be easily destroyed as well as easily replaced. Yet, the majority of us are attached to such things with our hips.

Yeah, why the hell does my boss call me on a cell-phone? This is two-thousand and fucking twelve, he should send a Pony Expressman if there is an emergency I need to tend to, fuck him wanting to be in touch with me 24/7, and fuck him for wanting to be in touch with me during my shift and to be able to call emergency persons should an emergency occur. It's not like that's a Security Guard's job or anything.

LOL, this was not directed towards you, what you said just made me think that and I am stoned. You're funny though. But some of us really do need this shit for work, so I got a smartphone. If I have to have the damn thing on me at all times, might as well get some use out of it other than work calls. Nowadays a smart phone plan can be found about as cheaply as a basic cell plan. True story. It's great too, I have shit tons of things to do, my life is pretty busy, and keeping track of all of that shit on a book that will probably get left somewhere rather than a phone that I will take with me ANYWHERE, is just retarded for my "here, there, everywhere" lifestyle. Not to mention, it eliminates the need for a home phone that I don't need because I am rarely ever home. I work. Might as well get some more bang for my buck, y'know?

Now, that my "Xanax high" is pretty much gone I can answer this!

True, smartphones are excellent for things like business. I got one with mostly business in mind, but I don't even work. What's the point of having a phone if you don't ever call your contacts or answer rouge calls? Why waste money on crap apps?
I guess my only need is the portable internet and the texting:P

Ah, yeah I usually just smoke pot. Xanax is cool though, I have taken it but it didn't make me feel high, just really sleepy.

Xanax usually makes me feel odd. Yesterday, I took two and it made me feel dizzy. Then, I ended up sleeping 4-6 hours late.

It's meant to relax you but anything more than the minimal dosage for your weight will have that effect.
