Normal traditional ring or tattoo ring ?

So I am curious to what others think. Me and my boyfriend are planning to get married in about let's say 1 1/2 or 2 years.

•This made it kind of difficult on both of us because I don't like to be bought stuff.
And just imagine how much a ring would cost, and he wasn't planning to make it that cheap. Then we were scrolling through pictures and we saw tattoo rings. I personally think that would be better because it doesn't cost as much as a normal marriage ring would. Not only that but since getting a tattoo is more effective , you can't take it off , or loose it . .
I'm not really worried about him cheating . I completely trust him.
I just don't want women hitting on him. I hate it when women do that. I guess I'm maybe just paranoid thinking about what my stepdad and my mom use to do. My stepdads friend would tell him to take it off , and he would listen to his friends .
And my mom used to get angry at my stepdad and take of her ring because she liked but hated being hit on by guys , when she was mostly asking for it . And yes we are putting the love and affection into our relationship :) He's the one that's mostly up for the tattoo ring more than I am .

But what do you guys think is better ?

I was going to say, what ever floats your boat. But after reading your reasons of wanting a tattoo ring, I have to say get a traditional ring you crazy bitch.

I really really want a tattoo ring myself to prove my commitment. I've been with my boyfriend since middle school/9 years so even if we did break up in the future I feel that the tattoo would be completely legitimized. He is a huge part of my life and always will be; whether he gets one or not I don't care. I want one for myself.

I'd say don't do it unless it has that much meaning to you and you want it for yourself. Any amount of insecurity is not a good reason for a couple to get ring tattoos.

The tattoo's a nice idea but I'd go for the traditional ring. Not that I doubt your relationship or anything, but you never know!

    Tatoos are ugly.

You'll just make yourself look like a trashy low-life to others.

I don't understand having tattoos would make you a low life. I currently have two tattoos and in a couple of years time, will become a qualified lawyer. I contribute to society in every way, work my ass off but I am a low life because I have two tattoos?
You can't see my tattoos unless I am pretty much naked. No one ever looks at me and assumes I am a low life.

Dude, even though I don't like tattoos too much a ring isn't too bad... I wouldn't want to and I don't plan on marrying either but to each their own...

Go with the tattoos. You won't be wearing a traditional ring when you are turning tricks anyways. Plus, you can't accidentally sell it to a pawn shop when you go on one of your crack binges

The tattoos will impress everyone in the trailer park and be cheaper, both in physical looks and value.

If you have the tattoo ring and you get divorced you're gonna be kinda screwed

Hi sorry for the presumption but the things you've written really resonate with what ive felt before and i wanna say I'm here if u need an impartial ear and that the more you talk about the pain when it hits, be it to the samaritans(who r 24/7,confidential and saved my life) or imalive(dot)org, Crisischat both of which u can textchat online, the more the pain and anxiety lessens. You can move past this but you don't have to fight alone, lean on others and the stronger and happier you become. I'm here, keep talking you can beat this

I'm not sure a lot of people would understand the significance of a tattoo ring so it might not stop women hitting on him. If you think your boyfriend would hide being married from such women, don't get either ring.

Not saying you will, but there is a chance you could get divorced. Then you will be left with a permanent mark and reminder of the failed marriage.
I really don't know why you brought up cheating. Not all marriages break down because of cheating. Married couples face a variety of problems like money, children, careers etc.
It's great that you are secure in your relationship and doubt he would cheat on you but your marriage could break down from other reasons.
Just buy a ring, get it insured.

I hate wearing jewelry, so the ink's a good idea.

The tattoo idea is nice but I could choose I would rather have a traditional gold ring.
