Normal to be much more horny in the late 30s for a female w/no kids?

I am not dating, I am not looking to date anyone right now since I have other priorities at this time. I'm also not sexually active since I'm not dating. But I'm horny all the time. (I don't think of sex all the time). I just could be sitting watching tv, reading a non-fiction book, be in the store shopping, driving, doing dishes and all of a sudden, I feel that need. I do have toys and I use them, but it seems that my body knows I'm not pregnant. Could this be why I'm so horny all the time? I would like to know how the general public looks at this, not how a psychologist would look at this.

normal since you are pushing 40 and your biological clock is ticking 14
normal since you are *human*, you want the human race to live on 7
normal since you are not sexually active 4
Dang, you don't have kids and your pushing 40? 1
Who cares how horny you are? Just get a toy! 3

I think it's normal regardless of how many kids you have.

sounds right to me after reading many other answers on other sites and women into their 50s are horny all the time as well. I was just thinking that may be since I don't have kids my body was saying "let's go and have babies before it is too late, we don't have much time!" Oh, also. . .not sure if this makes any difference or not, but I lost 1 ovary several weeks ago, and I'm more horny now after surgery. May be my body knows I lost it now that I have only 1????? Could also be since I couldn't do anything for 3 weeks after surgery. thanks

Yeah, I think it's part of the reality of being female. Our hormones make us want sex. Hormone levels peak during certain parts of our lives. And all sorts of things can trigger the change.

I hope you're healing well after surgery.

If it's by choice that is totally ok.

Women reach their sexual peak in their 30s, men in their late teens, early 20s. Normal.

well women hit their sexual peak somewhere in their 30's... so its as normal as a super-horny teenage boy who hit their sexual peak in their late teens/ early 20's.
