Hello, I was wondering how normal it is for a 17 year old girl to be attracted to older men in their late 30's early 40's.
I do not understand why this is either, is anyone else like this?
I have to ask, how is your relationship with your father? Many young women who have lost their fathers or have a strained or non-existant relationship with dad often find older men attractive. Don't take offense, it's merely a possibility. Often times they are seeking a father-like bond and mistake it for love/attraction. Another possibility is you are looking for stability and an older man may seen like they can provide it.
I'm not an advocate for May/December romance. It may seem exciting now, but in the long run you may regret it. Think of the age difference when you get older. You will be younger and still able to do things and it's possible that an older mate could be sick or unable to keep up. Also consider that you may want children. Would he be able to help with them if he hasn't already decided he's done with that stage of his life. After all, he could very well have children that are your age.
I'm 19 and I've like older man since I was about 17. They're just more mature and that makes them sexy. I'd say it's normal. I'm 32, and I'm attracted to younger women. There's nothing wrong with it. Be careful before entering into a relationship though because the age difference will be very tough. If you just want to get laid (after becoming legal of course), by all means. An older guy will be more patient, and knowledgeable, and a better all around lover. Well, rape isn't about age. Rape is when someone forcibly has sex with you without your given Conscent, so even if the relationship was still between two people of the same age and the guys would forcibly have sex with the woman without of her given conscent, that would still be rape, regardless of the age group
You don't have to have everything in common to have a good relationship, and you don't have to have ANYTHING in common to have good sex. What you like is what you like, and nobody can tell you it's wrong as long as everyone involved is a consenting adult.

I think it may not be "normal". Probably most go for guys their own age. Go with your wants. It will be normal to you.

Yeah, when you're that age, guys who are older seem appealing because they've grown out of the immature stage that guys your own age are currently still in (and will be in until their mid to late twenties).
You are entering womanhood becoming an adult and naturally find a wider range of men attractive, not just the boys who are your peers. 30/40 year old men & women are often in the prime of their lives in looks, education, confidence & accomplishments. What's not to like? Doesn't mean you have to act on it. Just means your radar is working!
