Normal that when i was 15 a teacher inspected my bra?

I'm in my 20's now. When I was 15 I did some work in a primary school for summer.
We had to shoot a play we were making with the kids and everyone was in stupid costume. The teacher I was working for, took me aside and told me because it was being filmed with younger kids, NO bra straps were allowed to be visible and I could only wear a bikini under the costume.
I told him I thought my bra was suitable. He then told me to go in the cupboard take off my bra and he took a closer look at it, touching and inspecting it for a while then said no, I needed to wear a halterneck/triangle bikini. At the time I didn't realise how creepy this was. Looking back, it seems fucking weird.
Is this 'no bra straps showing' rule even a real thing?! Could it be legit?

I don't know much about clothing guidelines. I do know that his inspection of your bra was highly inappropriate and perverted.

No bra straps showing, or the three b's - butt cracks, bellies or boobs - is the rule here in Australia for many if not most childcare centres, and modest dress is considered professional in all teaching.

Groping your bra, on or off your body, is fucked up creepy and perverted.

He was totally in the wrong no two ways about it: It is past now that you have aired here on IIN Take all the positive re-actions and move on: Not so nice things were done to me as a teenager which were abusive. I had to let them go and take charge of my own destiny and learn from them:

Well I had to read this whole thing to see if the teacher was really being a creep or just anal as hell. I would not put something like this past a school official after what they did to the kid for making a gun out of his pop-tart. I dont think the teacher was being a creep but I could understand where you might find this creepy. To me it just sounds like he was being incredibly anal about the rules like so many other school officials in the past have been. I once got in trouble for hugging a same sex student at my school. It was considered PDA. All we did was hug but you know its still not okay. Not abnormal I could see where you might have been annoyed but not new at least not in the US. Not surprising either.

I don't know if it's a rule, because I didn't set the costuming guidelines for your play. But yes, it could be legit, it would be pretty normal to have costuming guidelines. It is not uncommon for a piece of clothing to be inspected to see if it meets guidelines.
