There's a guy at my school who always stares at me from afar (blatantly turning around to look at me), but when I walk near him, he has this stressed expression and looks away like he could care less. We've never interacted.

Does he hate me? I have a crush on him + thought he had one on me until he turned around like he didn't care when I was closer to him. I don't know if I should approach him if he's exhibiting hostility.

    Sounds like shyness to me. I'm ashamed to say I've done the same thing when I'm really, really attracted to someone.

    Going up and talking to him wouldn't hurt anything! You've got nothing to lose. If you don't, you may never know if he does have a crush on you. Go for it!
