Normal for heart to skip a beat/flutter?

It's at random times too or so I think.

I get them nearly twice a day, but sometimes they last longer than usual, but not always. Like, today I had one last 10 seconds. I never had it that bad before. It scared me so badly I felt I would die and my face turned so pale.

I dont know what to do. My doctors never said anything was wrong with me but I havent been to a doctor in over 2 years but I always had flutters occuring nearly everyday...

Flutters are more often than not quite normal, but if you are anxious about them ask your doctor for an echo just to put your mind at ease

I am not sure how the poster above can for sure say you are experiencing heart palpitations (extrasystole) aka ectopic beats from what you said. Feeling a flutter in your chest for 10 minutes is along time and should be checked out by a health professional especially since you have not seen one in 2 years. I would recommend seeing a cardiologist. There are many heart conditions that can cause the sensation that you are describing including:

    - Atrial Fibrillation
    - Atrial Flutter
    - Heart palpitations
    - Ventricular Tachycardia

And many other arrythmias. You didn't say how old you are but if you are in the risk group for heart disease thats all the more reason to not ignore these symptoms and visit a cardiologist to rule out any serious problems.

    Good Luck.

This is called "extrasystole" and this is completely normal. Most people get them but many do not -feel- them. They can get more frequent with stress: the more you think about it, the more you will have. You can ask your doctor for confirmation and reasurance.

You should see a doctor. It could be symptoms of a serious condition.
