Nightmares
Is it normal that every once in a while i just won't want to fall asleep because i'm so afraid i'll have a nightmare? Won't happen often, maybe a few times a year. Is anyone else this way or am i just a sissy?

I used to be terrified of this quite a lot as a teenager; I eventually just decided that I was going to train myself to recognize a nightmare while I was in one, and now I'm either able to force myself awake or reassure myself that it's not real, and that drastically reduces the fear I experience.
Have you looked into lucid dreaming? Do a search on it; you may find a lot of great techniques to give yourself more control over what you dream. I also like the scented oil idea; vetiver is really great and nostalgic-smelling to me, so it's got quite a calming effect. Also, don't eat a whole lot right before you go to bed; if you have indigestion during sleep, that can contribute to nightmares. Sleep well :)
If you eat junky processed foods a lot or spicy and if your not getting enough oxygen.
Certain foods eaten before sleeping cause nightmares also, you can google that... You might be able to find some that cause pleasant dreams... Try having some scented oil sprinkled around your pillow or burning beside your bed? Better to just sprinkle!!! Hope this has helped???
Think if there's anything on ur mind. Then if there is, u might getta nightmare...
Yeah im tht way too but whenever i end up falling asleep i dont have a nightmare. i think god doesnt like it when i get sleep.
I'm terrified of my dreams, I don't know if toy are a Christian, but it helps me to pray the bad dreams away before I even get ready for bed and then right before I go to sleep.
Same thing happens to me. I've grown to hate dreaming alltogether because of this. Now I can't seem to enjoy it even if it's a good dream. :(
You should say positive affirmations when you are afraid, say for example you're laying in bed and your nervous about having a bad dream just keep repeating to yourself " i will have a restful sleep filled with lovely thoughts and memories" just something like that , something that works for you. Google positive affirmations. GL friend.
