Nightly cleaning rituals. normal or strange.

Everynight before I go to bed I have to make sure everything is absolutely spotless. If I leave things dirty I can't fall asleep. They aren't really dirty but a book may have been left out on the table or a remote is on the couch not the tv stand or the cat's water dish isn't full. Anyone else do this?

It's a type of OCD. A lot of people have them. It's not a big deal, although it can become a problem if it interferes with your sleep too much.

My husband's parents do this, it is kinda paranoid but I do see the point (for instance, when we stay until nearly midnight on Christmas, they stay up until 1am so they can vacuum before they go to bed..). I'd say it's pretty normal 'cause it's so nice when you wake up and it's clean!

Be careful though - it could be borderline OCD; if you think it's starting to control your life, then try to relax about it and if you can't, then see someone!

    Normal!
What's wrong with being clean? Jeez, people. Cleaning relieves my stress. I clean like a crazy person when I have a lot to do or I'm upset. But, before I go to bed I have to fold my throw blankets, put the pillows on the couch neatly...etc. I like to wake up to a clean home.

It's normal for a neat person. My boyfriend is ocd and he does that stuff. Me I'm a natural slob and having to clean stresses me out.

I'm a lazy slob. I consider doing my own chores worthy of a Nobel Prize.

of course its normal. it could attract bugs or there could be a fire and people would think you're a slob.

Go find a slob (shouldn't be hard). You'll make each other whole.
