Night terrors, ghosts, sleep

My friend told me she has been waking up almost once a week now and seeing people in her room. Sometimes they just stand there and stare at her and other times they try to get into bed with her. She said she never feels threatened by them. They sometimes look like black shadows in the corner of her room. She has been having night terrors ever since she was little but those were about spiders, the dreams with the people is new. I feel like these might be ghosts or demons that are visiting her? Is this normal, any thoughts?

This is fairly common and nothing to worry about. Look up hypnagogic hallucinations.

Yes, is she able to move while these people are staring at her?

If so, all she is experiencing is sleep paralysis, which is actually pretty common as most people have had at least one experience in their lives.

She is still asleep so they can't and won't harm her.

Ok thanks for all the advice. It's not her house that's haunted because she had these dreams on vacation too. She might go to a sleep study and see what they say.

i think that it's demons/spirits.But it's not normal for them to be in your house.you can tell them to leave and they probably will.

They could be ghosts or visual hallucinations. As long as they don't try to hurt her, it shouldn't be that serious.

I agree with above and she might want to talk to a psychiatrist.

she may need someone to come and do an exorcism on the place/house to help shift the spirits away

I dont think it's the house, it's her. They follow her wherever she sleeps. She's going to a sleep study this week so she'll find out more then.
