Each morning I take my kids to school. We had one of there class mates over a few times playing video games and movies kids stuff. We like to make them feel welcome. The strange thing is when we see them at school and greet them with a "good morning" get nothing but cold look. If they do say something its after we have looked at them in puzzlement. Is it me or is this strange? She is 9 and I am confused by her reaction. Her mom seas Good morning just not her. What did I miss here? I am tempted to tell both of them nether can come over to our home till they start showing saying good morning back. Why wouldn't any one be polite. What would you do.

    Some kids feel like their parents are god. If her mom answers you, maybe she feels like her mom's good morning counts for the both of them. Or she might assume that you were only talking to her mom and not her, so she didn't answer.

    i think you're extremely troubled by this 9-year-old girl. there is nothing wrong with it, maybe she was raised to stay quiet whenever she's around her mom. i would not think much of it.

    im a religous guy i go to church every sunday and i talk to people there but when at school i dont talk to them ever

    Nice idea but her mom that I talk to all the time does not taker her to class. The other kids say hi or morning and I don't even know them that well. I may be over reacting it is my way but We have her and her brother over all the time so her reaction is just strange.

      I thought shy but then why this fun playful smiles when she comes over I don't get that. I don't have a daughter but if I did she would be the daughter I never had. Just don't know why she would be shy in school. I don't think its personal just don't understand that.
