New year! is this the last one to come for us?
I'm not always completely convinced when people say the world ending in 2012 is just a myth. What do you think?

Didn't the world already end three months ago?

The world could decide to end in a secound from now then again its very unlikely as is it that it will go down any time soon...
Depends on what you actually understand when you say end of the world, in my point of view 21 dec 2012 it's the start of the end and not the end itself.
Something will happen or will start to happen but I am fairly sure that will not end abruptly.
For now we base our doomsday on the mayan calendar and nostradamus, it's probable but not confirmed so just live your life as you normally do.
I dont believe the world will end only jesus know that but i do believe the year will be a new start to a new world and way if life..alot of caious. Alot will be revealed..
We'll find out... dont worry if it happens it will weather you worry about it or not...
If anything does happen its probably going to be an social economic/political collapse. I seriously doubt its going to be any natural disaster or biblical apocalypse.
I'm going to wear a t-shirt that says "I'm a douche and believe in the apocalypse."
If you're going by those shows on Discovery, Nat Geo, and History channels, you're being mislead. Those shows, they purposely find whackos with no credentials who support their agenda and never have real authorities on the subject.
Did you see the South Park where they parody 'Ancient Aliens'? Well, it's a pretty accurate representation of how Discovery et al put some of their shows together.
Read this wiki entry on 2012 phenomenon, it's very informative and shows that much of what you probably think you 'know' about much of this crap is just completely false, or exaggerated, and many times are just some whacko's extreme interpretation.

Wikipedia can be a reliable source if you use it like an index to find reliable sources. Wikipedia is not the answer to any specific question but I contend it's a good place to start.
Well at least it cites sources, names names and the information can be checked out, and they don't have an agenda like the Discovery Channel does in their shows which are very misleading. There's plenty of good information there with links to sources and further reading.
To be honest, any random freak event could happen at any moment....
As with this Mayan calendar thing; yes they predicted a few celestial phenomena, but I don't think that it can be relied on for predicting an apocalyptic event.
