Never had to make a sandwich?

Recently during a coversation at school I told a female friend that I have never had to make a sandwich in my life. For some inexplicable reason this seemed to shock her and she then told me some stuff about sexism and objectification of women and stuff, none of which I cared about because I was thinking about sandwiches. Anyway.. I am now beginning to think that maybe men today make their own sandwiches (and other food, for that matter). Is this normal? Do men make their own sandwiches nowadays? Please help.

Hmmm.. well, it depends on how much you like sandwiches and how often you are alone, lol. I mean, if you totally love sandwiches, and have nobody to make them for you... well, it would be odd to just lay there and starve. I think the girl who said it was sexist was a brainwashed douchebag. She had some nerve. Because you like having your sandwiches made for you, now you hate women? Puhhh-leeeze. I'm a woman. I know my sandwiches come out waaaaaay better than anything my boyfriend can make, lol. A lot of men are terrible cooks and can't even make toast. That's okay, because a lot of women can't change a tire or carry a heavy table upstairs. Give me a break. I don't want to make my man cook, I'd rather follow the gender role so that way when it comes time to PUMP GAS or open the door, I know I'm taken care of. :) And by the way, my father is a master chef, no kidding. But I get it that men aren't always good cooks and sometimes just want a freaking sandwich. Please don't tell me that the rest of the female species is too busy bleeding and bitching to slap a piece of meat between two slices of bread.

Your friend is acting like an idiot. Typical feminist bullshit! Anyone can make a sandwich. If a member of the opposite sex makes you a sandwich it's no big deal, unless you've bossed them into it. It's good to be self-dependant. Try learning how to make your own food.

I like my Hubby to be chivalrous. I love to cook and clean! It's fun! Then I get all pretty for him and he appreciates it and I appreciate him. If I am sick or not home, he can make his own sandwich! You should too!!

I normally make the sanwiches at our house, though when I was really sick this week, my hubby took charge :) He's so sweet. Did an awesome job! Also cooked supper, did the dishes, etc. I'd be lost without him!

I'm not sure I understand your question either. If men don't make food for themselves then what will they eat? What happens to single men who don't live with their mothers? If your mother isn't teaching you the basics of caring for yourself, then she's doing you a grave injustice. I'm not judging here, I just want you to consider this. Wouldn't you feel better knowing you could fend for yourself? Most men I know can do some basic cooking, cleaning, and laundry, so I have to say that it is normal.

if a girl makes a guy food, its sexist, if a guy makes a girl food, its romantic..tell me, is that fair?

im not sexist, but its annoys me when women say stuff like "were just like youu, we do do this and that and this and that just as good as you"
and then you ask them to actually do something and they like "your being so sexist!"

imo, if that happins its really the girl whos being sexist.

  • @stealinsugar: Thanks for the advice man, I'm glad you take this as seriously as I do.

@gigantor: Well, that's how we started talking about sandwiches in the first place. Actually she told ME to make her a sandwich so I told her I'd never made one before.

  • Well, of course it's not difficult. Knitting a sweater isn't difficult either, but would I do that? You obviously misunderstood my question.
