Never had a job before

Hi,

So Im 18 and iv'e never had a job. I've been attending school and currently just finished a semester at college. I am moving in 2 months therefore I have not signed up for any classes this semester and instead want to find a job for these two months. My friends all tell me I won't be hired since I am 18 and have never had a job.. this really worries me because I want to make money. I am not a lazy person, I just have spent my years focusing on school, and my parents never asked me to get one. Is it strange/ bad that I've never had a job before? I'm so sick of people telling me how weird it is. WIll waiting this long to get a job affect my future?

Thanks for any advice :)

I just turned 21 and I don't have a job either; but I've been going to school full-time. If you want a job, then you'll need to be confident and willing to be persistent with potential employers. You'll find something; even if it's just McDonald's. :) Good luck!

If you're 18 and haven't had a job, that's not too bad. Now if you were 28 or 38 and never had a job, that would NOT be normal. Good luck to you! :)

It's not THAT weird. Everybody's got to start somewhere. I'm sure you have some good references. People love to hire college students so don't worry about it.
