My boyfriend is way nicer to strangers than he is to me. If we're around his friends he pays no attention to me at all and just focuses on entertaining and socializing with others. He even acts differently and it makes me hate him.
Is this normal?
well it could be that he's neglectful
or it could be that you're both very young.
you may want to try the adult approach and engage in a very intimate act called "Communication".

Here's an idea, maybe don't go with him when he's with his friends? If he's neglecting you when he's with his friends, he probably didn't want you there in the first place.
Yeah, talk to him about it, but don't be too direct or angry.
Also you could try being more nice to him, see if he wants to spend more time with you and all that. By making more of an effort, he might find you more enjoyable to be with and give you just as much attention.
But as the person above me said, you are probably quite young, and it is normal for guys to act differently towards you when they're around their friends, or to prefer spending time with them. They are boys, after all, and most boys like boyish things!
Just try to be fair and understanding, and if he is especially mean or passive towards you, then maybe he's not such good boyfriend material.
