Need your help in choosing a show!!

Guys I know both shows are not exactly new by a few years, but I really wanted to start watching a new show. It came down to these two and I only have enough money to start buying one of the shows on dvd (i dont have netflix lol). So, if you guys could help me out? I'm torn between these two. Thanks!     Vamp Diaries seems to be a teen drama, with lots of young, pretty people as actors, though with little talent. A Melrose Place with vamps. Just a TV Twilight.
    Though I've only seen 2 seasons of True Blood, they seem to have much better acting and writing.

    Honestly? True Blood. The first season until up to the last quarter is pretty cringey but after that point it becomes a pretty good show. Not ground breaking but I would assume better than Vampire Diaries. I tried Vampire diaries once on a later season to get past the soppyness of the starting one, but all it does is talk about love and romance and so on, where as True blood, from what I can tell so far on season three, the only really Cringey romance is Sooki, which is irritating.

    But then again, True Blood has a ton of somewhat porn, like a barrage of porn in the first season, but it dies down after that (thank God), it also has a lot of homosexuality in it (doesn't really bother me but might you), and so on.

    I would say True Blood...The show might not attract you but you can't say that they are atleast the better types of vamps you would wanna see in a vampire show, not filled with only eye candy vamps but still have attractive vamps that aren't over the top attractive, which seems pretty cool to me.

    If you just want another show in general, try Under the Dome, Hannibal, Supernatural, and/or Sherlock. I didn't wanna say stuff like Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones because I assume you have seen them given how big they are/were, but if you haven't, screw the the two on your options and the ones I listed, those two are two of the best shows I have seen and I understand the hype now. Lol
