Natural way to start masturbating

I always wonder how it is possible if a person who has reached puberty or is even older doesn't know HOW TO masturbate (you know - the questions like "I want to masturbate but I don't know how to do it").
I think that for a sexual being it is an instinctual thing and such a person naturally finds out that something feels VERY good and just starts to do it - maybe even before they know what masturbation is.
My question is - is it normal that I think that it is natural this way and if a person doesn't know how to masturbate it simply means that the person is sexually deficient and is either asexual or has a sexual dysfunction (low libido, arousal difficulties etc.)?

I agree with you (I'm female) 8

I never figured it out till I was 21! I'd had sex, just not on my own. It's fun.

I used to basically jkust use my fingers and thrust, which felt amazing, but it took a while to learn that my clit felt even better. It wasn't until I had lost my virginity that I learned that I am one of those people who can't come without extreme clitoral stimulation, so I have to use some form of vibrating thing to achieve orgasm (or really good head). I can understand, especially with females, not working out right away what exactly will let you achieve orgasm

I remember it being talked about at school as something people enjoyed so I decided to learn how to do it. My technique was utterly bizarre but it got me over the line.

It's difficult to believe people would ask in this day and age, though, when all you need to do is type one word into Google and get a million video of people doing exactly what is requested.

I don't agree with you. Any guy stars discovering his body very young but it takes a wile before you know how to it to the point of reaching real pleasure out of it without feeling guilty or embarrassed.
I'm 35 and in my time I could have used some help but my father died when I was very young. I remember when I started with my wet dreams and having a hard for no reason no matter were. Than the discover of my body at night in bed. I didn't had to do much to come with that age but before I really knew how to masturbate with full pleasure and in peace without being afraid of someone to pop up it took me a wile.
I guess for those things a open minded father is very useful.
I tough my soon how to do it as soon as I found he was having his wet dreams nearly all the time. Now, in his 15th he is doing it all the time with no problems to get caught.
In my opinion is not a matter of libido or any other thing.
If parents and especially fathers have a nice and easy communication with their boys things can turn far more easy in everything concerning sex.
I understand these kind of things are part of regular education. Like brunching teeth, learn how to take a proper shower, wash and comb the hair and so on.
Nobody is born knowing how to do none of this things.

    • Of course, knowledge can improve one's masturbation technique or the way how one feels about masturbation but this isn't the subject of my post. This is not about how to do it better - the thing is if one knows how to do it at all. I argue that the natural way how a sexual person starts to masturbate is that he or she finds out that something feels VERY good and just starts to do it - maybe even before they know what masturbation is. My question is - IIN that I think that it is natural this way and if a person doesn't know how to masturbate (AT ALL, not how to do it better!), it simply means that the person is sexually deficient and is either asexual or has a sexual dysfunction (low libido, arousal difficulties etc.)?
