Name appropriation

Is it normal that when cute customers at my food service job pay with a card that lists their name I write down the name then look them up on the internet later on?

I work at a restaurant on my university's campus, and as such most of the students who buy food there pay with their student body card. Anytime I think a student is particularly good looking, I'll write down their name so that later that night I can check Facebook/Myspace to learn more about them. Is this normal curiosity, or am I overstepping my bounds?

This is definitely one of those weird boundaries where everyone has/would do this if tempted enough but would never admit it. i guarantee you every has or would. Normal? No, it's actually quite antisocial behavior but everyone gets curious and wants to take the easy way out. i guess if it leads to you actually striking up something with them, then no harm done. Don't be a lurker though. You're just going to creep yourself out like you're doing now, hahahaha.

probably both, i think almost anyone would do it if it was the most attractive person they'd seen in their life, for people like us, the curious feeling just comes a little easier

Did I just comment on a very similar question from the same person 5 minutes ago, or is it just coincidence?

Anyways, here's my same comment again:

Try learning these things by actually talking to them and getting to know them. If you want to know details about them, you must want to be their friend. Better start doing it quick though, before people start thinking you're a stalker and you lose the friends you already have.
