Is it normal for me to be insecure about the way my vagina looks? I think it is ugly. My labia hang down, not very far but they do. My ex called it a "beef curtain" it really pisses me off because I'm already insecure about it.

I've seen a few vaginas in my time (and hope to see a few more). With one exception, the only thing they all had in common was that their owners were slightly insecure about them. As a man, I've never seen one in the flesh that I didn't want to do things to. There's something infinitely appealing about them. I'd virtually guarantee this is true of yours.
I'm just going to point out that the vagina is internal and what you're referring to is the vulva.
My labia are big too, probably bigger than yours since you said they don't hang much. It's perfectly normal and sexy, definitely not disgusting. Meat/beef curtains is just another name for big labia; it's not offensive on its own.
When I was younger I thought there was something wrong with me because the girls in movies had tiny labia that didn't stick out at all, and that one day I'd have to have surgery to 'fix it'. It crossed my mind that maybe it was some kind of birth defect and I must've been born a boy and would never have a boyfriend. All of which weren't true.
Any guy who thinks there's something wrong with long labia is an immature little boy whose sexual knowledge begins and ends with Playboy.
Please stop thinking of it as ugly. Labia come in all different shapes and sizes, all of which are beautiful and awesome. Most guys know it's normal and like having that bit of extra skin to play with and suck on.
Search for long/large labia on tumblr and you will find plenty of pictures showing you that labia of any size are normal. You can also search for amateur porn with large lipped girls. Why do you care? I do not understand why women care what it look likes? Men like a tight women and I really doubt that has anything to do with the looks. Women get insecure about the weirdest things. Your ex sounds like a prude so do not feel bad about it. All human anatomy is disgusting. Men have two sacks and a disgusting sausage sack hanging. Women are just a tunnel. Women have big old sacks of fat filled with milk hanging from the chest. Face it human anatomy is disgusting. People in general are disgusting creatures. Why do you think we take fur from animals. you got like a 50/50 chance of your labia hanging lower than your vulva, so it's very normal. It can mean increased pleasure during sex, seeing as those parts (along with your clit) are the most sensitive during sex :)
I would think that's normal for allot of girls. The only reason you're feeling insecure about it is because you're ex is a douch bag. It's like me. I'm 5'1 110lbs, but I feel so effing fat cause of how my boyfriend views fat people, and what fat is. Don't let it get to you, I'm sure you're very beautiful.. Vagina included xD
You shouldnt feel negatively about yourself, some of us find that sexy and wouldn't use terminology you find demeaning. I think they are tender tasty petals of pleasure.

I personally think mine isn't normal, but really, what is a normal vagina? Because they are all so different. I even have considered getting surgery on mine a few times.
Overall, no one will care about how your vagina looks. Your ex probably loved it. He knew you were insecure about it, so he called it a horrible name just to get at you. Forget about him.
