My sisters boyfriend told me he was leaving her.

This is the story I've never told.
My secret. At least, the only possibly meaningful one I have. Kept it for 7 years now. But as I believe I am anonymous here, I'll divulge it for opinions.

My sisters fiance sat next to me at a bonfire of my 16th birthday. It was a good time. Fire, hotdogs and marshmallows, plenty of family and friends and a mixed tape playing on stereo.I was quiet, as I usually was. An introvert. Reserved. My sisters fiance spoke to me about getting older and all. He was an upbeat energetic and funny man. Much older than I was as was my sister.
Ticket to heaven came on as we watched the fire. He began reciting the lyrics as it was being sang by 3 doors down. His energetic, humorous demeanor suddenly solemn.
He recited until "Lie in the bed that you made" Then he paused. "That's the way I feel. Everyday". I didn't say anything. My 16 year old self could not determine his meaning. Especially not at the time.
It was at most 1 month later him and my sister broke up for reasons never made clear except for that it was a peaceful ending that left my sister slightly emotional if only to my eyes.
Given the lyrics and the song meaning, could his soft words to me be indicative of their future break up? It really was a shame, I should say.. I liked the man. Like I said, he was funny, but I suppose that's all a 16 year old might need.
"That's the way I feel everyday".

It was a indication of exactly that 2
It was definitely not that. 1
It likely was. 6
It Likely wasn't. 3

Few things wrong with this story...

    1) it was 7 years ago and you were listening to a tape.

    2) the song was by 3 doors down.

    3) the lyric quoted doesn't appear to mean, "Hey bro, I'm gonna dump your sister."

    4) is there a question here, or are you just getting it off your chest?

      1) Yeah, I thought I said that?
2)I think I said that too.
      3)Perhaps not.
      4) Both.
