My post-sex smell?

Okay this will probably sound weird like a troll post... Maybe not. But I've noticed that after I've been making love for awhile, whenever we finish, I seem to smell like pancakes or pancake syrup. I'm not even exaggerating; I usually notice this sweet syrup type smell. It seems to be located around my head, but sometimes comes from my skin in general. The smell doesn't come from my vagina so it's not related to that. And I don't think it happens unless I've been having sex or at least cuddling and making out with someone in bed. What the hell is going on? Why do I start to smell like syrup? Is that even normal?

    Sounds like acidosis of some kind. This can cause the breath or skin to smell sweet. It is also something that will present after exertion or activities that raise body temperature, and sex can fit the bill on both counts.

    There are different types and causes for acidosis, and many can be serious, so I would highly recommend speaking to your doctor. I have personally experienced Diabetic Ketoacidosis.

    Does your partner smell the same thing? It may be your nose fooling you into thinking that is what your smelling, when its really something else.

    it's too bad if it's related to something negative , I sure hope not! I would love a woman to smell like pancakes and syrup ... I believe I have smelled it before though and I enjoy it a lot :) very sexy and very cute :D I now want to go research this .

      Haha thanks. I hope its not related to some type of illness. It doesn't happen all the time, only after sex-related activities it seems. Maybe it's just my sex hormones? And yeah it's not a bad smell at all.

    I don't think its coming from you. I think its coming from your partner. Hormones are released when horny / during sex to attract their mate .

    I have other symptoms that point to diabetes but I am too scared to confront the possibility :( could it be a symptom of anything else? Maybe if I just eat a lot of sugar?

      If you think you may have diabetes eating a lot of sugar is DEFINITELY not a good idea

      Acidosis is not strictly the result of diabetes, as I said there are a number of types and causes. I am not aware of other causes besides acidosis, but I am not a doctor, so again, you need to speak to one.
