My poor fat sister

I have 2 sisters. Both younger than me. The middle used to be anerexic, the youngest is obese. Ever since my middle sister stopped eating, the youngest wont stop. All she eats is junk food and finds the junk food we hide from her and eats it all. Im worried about her. We have tried to help but she says she doesnt care she is fat. The anerexic sister is getting help. But what are we going to do about the other?

    So they both have unhealthy relationships with food. Unfortunately a lot of women do. You can blame whoever you want.... the media, parents, some sort of disorder bla bla bla.

    Everyone has to make choices and sometimes those choices become complicated to make due to those external influences. Hopefully they have enough self respect to rise above it and act in their own best interests.

    Its a decision only they can make, all you can do is be an excellent source of support for them. Empower them.

        good idea - so my teeth can rot and look like Lindsay Lohan's and I can spend $1000.00 a week on food - all to look fantastic? My skin will look terrible, my hair might even fall out and I wont know what full feels like anymore. ....... and there is of course..... death with prolonged purging

    just love her. don't treat her badly.

    perhaps it's a reaction to all the attention you're giving the other sister, or a reaction to all the food you're trying to make the other sister eat.

    I use to have an eating disorder too. You need to take her to a doctor who will scare her straight. Show her the statistics and life expectancy charts. Let her know that she's scaring you guys and that you just want her to be healthy .

    I think the reason why they are like that is because of each other. When one person see something that they don't want to become they often do the opposite of that they see. So your sisters are seeing each other, and not wanting to become like the other they end up like this.

    Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your sister. But sometimes, there's nothing you really can do and you just have to let her be and live her life. If she doesnt mind being fat, she doesn't mind being fat -- it's not like she doesn't know if her family cares about her or not, which they clearly do.

    not only is it going to be a short life she lives it will be a very unsatisfying life she lives as well. She will soon understand the damages she is doing to herself but physically and mentally. She will be ridiculed unmercifully as she gets older if it hasnt started happening already. I know from experience, my nickname growing up was "Porky Pete". I have a short pig nose as well. Sometimes it was just shortened to Pork, Porky, or Porker.

    You at least owe it to her to try and find help to discern the reason she is over eating the way that she is.

    Here is a thought stop enabling her over eating by buying junk food for her to eat.
