    The official medical advice in the UK is that any man who has an erection lasting more than two hours should see a doctor as an emergency. The Mayo clinic website says four hours. In any case, you need to see a doctor very soon.

    For God's sake, don't be embarrassed about this. Doctors and nurses have seen it all before. If you're reluctant to use the informal terms when speaking to the receptionist, use the medical term.
