I've always felt like suiсide would be selfish and wasteful. If you have no purpose in life why not use it for the good of others? There is nothing in life I like doing, so I just do whatever everyone else tells me to do. I feel almost detached from my physical existence, but at least it's being put to use that i never had for it. IIN?
This isn't normal at all. How do you expect to help anyone when you do nothing for yourself.
A good example is on airplanes when there is a lack of oxygen they say to put your mask on first before helping others who are incompetent. That is because if you don't, they will likely both run out of oxygen.
You must do things for yourself to be of use to anyone else.
Even by doing nothing fun you will become depressed and not be able to function.
That's funny. I said the same thing to someone I knew who was very depressed and auicidal. I asked him if he recycled, and he said yes. If you don't want something, give it away.
I actually firmly believe that helping other people can get you through difficult moments in life. It helps you gain perspective; it helps you to see that your own problems are not so terrible and that even if they are, you are not alone. It helps you gain a sense of purpose when you feel as if you have none. I honestly think that doing some type of volunteer work is an amazing way to help treat depression.
