My mom says words wrong, then gets mad at others

My mom has a habit of totally mispronouncing a lot of words. For example she says " hoss" instead of house and " Ester Laudee" instead of Estée Lauder. The other day she meant to say " crotch" but kept saying " kicked him in the crouch" which those of us present found funny. We've told her many times before but she still says " crouch" and she got mad that we laughed and slammed her fork down and said" up your ass" and left the table. Is this normal?

My mom gets pissed whenever I correct her pronunciations as well; she'll say things like "hyena-ous" when she wants to say "heinous," or "marty-er" when she wants to say "martyr." There are some pronunciations which shouldn't be corrected, due to them being regional in nature and part of that place or group's vernacular, but otherwise it can be very tempting to correct someone when they are very obviously pronouncing something wrong, even by their region's standards. I'd say it's normal to get angry when people correct your speech, considering that a lot of people do get angry over this kind of thing.

This is often a symptom of a growth in the brain, such as a tumor. The affected person just can not hear the difference, which leads to the frustration and anger. You might want to get her checked out.

Or sell her and buy a non faulty one. It's cheaper at the moment.

Some people has pronunciation problems and its not something they can help. Since you guys kept laughing at her for that I'd say it was normal for her to get angry like that(anyone would be).
