So, I just found out that when I was being born my mom pooped herself. And that I was born covered in shit! What should I think about it?
You have to push for all your might, wtf do you think is going to happen. Its all interconnected down there.
She was birthing a child! So what if she pooped herself, you probably would have too! Instead of thinking "Ew, my mom shat herself when she had me" you should be thinking "Damn am I lucky my mom was able to push me out of her womb and didn't DIE during the process." Show some humility and appreciation.

Are you serious?! I hope that I don't shit on my child when I give birth. I've never heard of that but that doesn't mean it's not possible.
this is pretty common, happens to a lot of women while giving birth. especially if you've been given an epidural. you're pushing as hard as you can and everything is numb, so it's difficult to tell which muscles you're using.

Anyway, that must have been pretty awkward. I once saw a show where this woman was trying to give birth. She pushed hard and mucus exploded in every direction. It got on the camera and the doctors were freaking. It was disgusting, but normal.
It's completely normal. I didn't poop myself thank god, but some women can't tell the difference between the urges because they are so similar. Especially with an epidural because the sensation is minimized. Plus, they tell you to "push like you're having a bowel movement". From my experience, they say that so you have an idea of how to push. You figure it out as it's happening that it's not quite like pushing like you're trying to shit.
totally normal most women do it, everyting goes out the window when your in that much pain.
