My mom is an art teacher

I'm the opposite. My family have 0 art talent, and I'm the only artist xD

Yes because not everyone is the same. Just because most of your family are good at art, doesn't mean you will be.

Yup it's normal. Art runs for the individual, not genetics. Although, I'd say if parents are artistic, the chances of their child(ren) that are artistic is higher (since it can be influenced).

It is normal. I'm sure you're good at something else. Persue that. We all have different talents and that's ok!!

Artistic talent is something you develop. If you try long enough, you'll gain skill as well.

Yes, it is perfectly normal to be different in a family. In mine my dad, mom and brother all are really good at math(my dads a professor) and suck at art. But I hate math and numbers of any sort but love art and drawing and am good at it. So your situation is like the opposite of mine :D

My Mum wouldn't let me study art because she said I wouldn't be as good as the other students but I changed subjects without telling her and got the best mark in the class.

Yes!!!!!!! Half of my family are incredible creative musician, my sister is a great singer and a few of my cousins are in different bands and song writers in/ for musicians that you probably have heard of, and my other are all doctors! I got neither talents!
