My microbiology class is driving me crazy...

Okay. So for those of who aren’t familiar with microbiology, it’s a class where you test bacteria to determine what species and genus they are and to figure out how they cause disease and how to prevent them and how to treat them etc. Anyway, I smell E. Coli (which smells really bad, worse than feces, imo) everywhere randomly. This morning, I smelt E. Coli and caused me to wake up 6 hrs earlier than usual and I couldnt go back to sleep. I hate this class, its even worse than anatomy. And in anatomy, you dissect brains and eyeballs of animals cadavers and human cadavers which is very unpleasant, however, I never had a reaction such as with micro. And I cant believe that I hate micro more than anatomy. Is this normal? How do I stop it?

  • Use a dab of peppermint oil under your nose to mask the odor, unless the course requires you to describe or document smells.
