My job makes me hate humans. iin?

I work at wallyworld as a cashier. Until i finish college that is.. Working there has caused me to completely lose hope for mankind as a whole. Its like as soon as i clock in im filled with deep seated hatred for any patrons who cross my path. When im not at work im the most easygoing person you could meet, its only while at WM. 75% of the customers treat you like the shit in their toilet, they dont control their little miscreants, and blow up at you when their coupon to save ten fucking cents is expired. And most of them abuse government assistance money (buying 150 dollars worth of frozen junk food, little debbies, and soda on food stamps).

Whenever someone walk into my line i wish death on them in my mind, unless they're friendly, and dont have the 'im better than you so suckle my ass, storeworker' vibe. The same five jokes i hear all day every day make me want to eat a gun 'oh look! You dont have anybody, ill keep ya busy!' or 'if it doesn't scan it must be free!HARHAR!' please just leave me alone and let me do my job.

Sorry this was so long i just had to vent this out before i snap at someone. is it normal to loathe your job and customers so much?

I lose hope for mankind all over again every time I go into Walmart too, and I don't even work there.

People who are compaining about bad customers. I've probably been cussed out as much as any of you guys. Word to the wise though, learn as much as you can and learn to ignore all that anger when you're young. I say this since even the CEO of a company (a successful one) has to consider him/herself a sales guy when the time comes (in most companies) and it's always a tough job. The more you learn to ignore these things as a kid, the easier it is to concentrate on more important things as you get older

LMAO. I so know. I worked in a restaurant for a long time. I would wish death on people all the time too. Whenever the little bell on the front door would ring, my skin would crawl. Here are some things I hated about people. Here are some things I hate that people do.

    1. Theyre shoveling chips and salsa down their gullet, hand over fist. I say, "are you ready to order?" They say yes, then shove in one more chip... so that when they order, they are spitting chips all over the menu.

    2. They have the same stupid look on their faces when they come in the door.

    3. They complain about the prices. If you can't afford $4 for a bean burrito, go to Taco Bell. That's what I do, and I didn't make the prices either, so it will do no good to bitch at me.

    4. They take a bite, and say the food is too cold. I say I'll have them heat it up, they say no, they'll just eat it. Then why did you call me over to tell me it was cold?

    5. Someone orders a build your own burrito... make it how YOU want, yay. right? They complain there are too many options. "I don't care what's in it, just pick for me." so I do. When they get their food, they complain they don't like what I picked for them.

In the end, I did learn to focus on how many nice and smart peole there are. It's important to have a good attitude, just so your day doesn't last a year.

I used to work in a restaurant when i was 17 to 19 years old.
We had to change shifts; you're either cleaning the dishes (with machines and gloves so not that bad) or cleaning up the restaurant (it was a big restaurant).
Costumers get these dinner trays where they put their food on, and after eating like 70% of people leave it behind for the staff to clean up.. while there is a place they can bring it..it's not hard.
Doesn't matter where you sit you will walk past one of these places you can bring them to when you walk to the exit of the restaurant.
Yet almost everyone left their shit behind because people are sheep.
They see one person leave his tray behind they do it too.
So the person who's got the crappy responsibility of keeping the restaurant clean would really get pissed off at crowded times.
I know they pay for the food, but it's not much to ask, even when i was 6 years old i always clean my own shit up even when there's people who's job it is to do it.
I would always tell the new recruits to keep calm and dont go crazy on it, do what you can do but no more than that!
I would still rather have a job where you are busy because the time flies then, but customers can be real jerks.
Never knew why so many people can be so unfriendly to people who are just doing their job.
The only reason i stayed there by the way is because i needed a job and a 17 year old can't really begin with what he wants, my colleages were also nice.
So i know what you're going through, just try not to take it personal, they just behave like douchebags because they know if you do anything about it you can get in trouble.

  • I worked in customer service for years when I was in college, not at Walmart, but customer service is customer service.

It truly is the worst job you can ever have on the entire planet. If people that come in dont blatantly try to take their bad day out on you, they act like its your fault they couldnt find something in the store. Listen motherfucker, you really think I am supporting a family on my $7.50/hour, or paying a mortgage on my shore property from this job?? I dont give a shit if you had a good shopping experience or found what you were looking for, my name aint on the front of the store, the owner's is, he is the one making the money from it and cares about whether you found the whole grain cereal, not me. I am the one working this job to put gas in my car and have mayby enough money to go to the movies if I want to. Get the hell out of my face already!

And shut your whiny, snot nosed little rug rats up while your at it!

On the plus side I was able to steal just about anything food/hygiene wise I needed.
