My hips click

I'm pretty much 19 and my hips click. Sometimes I have to for relief I guess. I have to push my leg really far out and it looks weird but I need to do it sometimes. Is this normal (probably not...)

I'm very rigid, you could say. Been meaning to take up yoga for a while... Just never get round to it.

My hips have always clicked. I saw a doctor about it, & he said that it was completely normal.

Mine too. I click in a few places but I was just worried about my hips.

Have you seen a doctor? It sounds to me that this is either a muscular or a skeletal problem.

Not normal in the sense that it shouldn't be happening. Normal in the sense that you are not a freak. My hips click too and I am about the same age. Mine is wear and tear from 16 years of ballet (which often requires you to use your joints improperly if you aren't trained correctly. I wasn't.) If you don't have a similar athletic background, it could just be that you have walked improperly your who life. Get some instruction on proper posture and practice it in your daily life. Should relieve a but of the pain. I have to tell you, "popping" the joint on purpose is a bad idea. I also have to tell you that I do it a lot anyway. Stretching is always a good idea for almost any body ache that isn't a muscle tear. Never stretch cold. Warm up by jogging or by taking a really hot shower.

Thanks for the advice. I used to jump off of really high things when I was younger and just take the impact? Plus I used to be pigeon toed but sorted it out with insoles. Probably a mix of walking wrong and the jumping. I'm also generally inflexible.
