My girlfriends mom hates my look

So my girlfriends mom has this problem with me... And the things I put on my body, like i.e. I got 22" earlobe plugs (streatching) a 8g septum, snake bites and some tattoos, so she tolled her that if I got some new stuff she would never let her see me again!
I know some people have problems with the body modification stuff, some just don't understand it and some just hate it!
I do this to myself cause it makes me feel better, happier and just cause I like the history of the meaning of a simple hole on a body...
But really she HATES me now!
And I plan not to get any stuff for a while
Now dose this have to do with her being in her 50's?
That she just does not like the idea of her little girl being with a "freak"?

I know all this is gonna keep being the same!
But what does this scare parents?
I mean, gosh!!! Didn't they have their revolution in the 60's and 70's
And FUC* this has been going on for quite a time now
What do all you think?

Its just a bad reputation these kind of things have like I got a tattoo on my forearm when I was 15 and most people talked to me like I was some dangerous person and my teachers even treated me like I was stupider then everyone else its just ridiculous.

i was a long haired guy in a hockey town when i was a teenager. i got called fag eVRYDAY on the bus to school. i got beat by hockey players. my teachers sometimes treated me like i was a rebel, even though i was straight edged and polite. i only ever had ONE gf's parents like me, and that was because they were "freaks" like me. DON'T LET THE WORLD MAKE YOU BITTER AND DON'T LET THEM MAKE YOU CHANGE. we are all beautiful inside, don't let the ugliness of hatred ruin the wonderful person im' sure you are.

Perhaps this is a stupid question as I don't know your reasons, but why didn't you cut your hair? I know it may have felt weak, but better than putting up with that kind of bullsh!t in my opinion.

MisterGee81, who the fuck are u to tell someone how to look?
People dress this way because it looks good to them not cuz they try to get attention, thats called a Poser.
How is MM a freak? Have u met him? Have u watched any of his interviews? Hes a genius and just because someone dresses this way does not make them a "freak"
Its mainstream faggots like u who make this world such a fucked up place. Are you God? no, so dont judge people.
Thanks for giving everyone on here a good laugh and showing what an idiot you are.

I think YOU are the one who needs to grow up and get some guts.

How about a Prince Albert? It's popular with the ladies and gay guys!

Hey I'm a lady that has stretched ears, multiple ear piercings, and a couple tattoos myself. Not to mention bright blue hair. Take it from me, people are going to judge you no matter what, but it's satisfying to know that their ignorance is the real plague, and not your appearance. I've gotten stuff like "how are you going to find a job?" When I've been working since I was 15. You're fine dude :)

The fact that people are telling you to stop looking the way you do is amusing. It's almost a parallel to racism. Should I stop looking like a white girl because someone doesn't like it? Should a black person stop being black? I dunno, it's just ridiculous to me that people think we should all be the same. Should we all "clean up" and get a hair cut and take out our piercings? Do we need to have another 70s hippie movement here? Geezus.
Why do people even have time to worry about what others look like haha. I have way more important things and myself to worry about.

Her mum is being an idiot, it's who you are inside that matters not what you look like. I know my mum would much rather me be dating a nice person with loads of piercings and tattoos than a wanker who looks like any other regular person.

    @mistergee
Im not done with you buddy
I wish people like you would speak up in public more often... Dont be a coward... Next time you see one of these "freaks" i want you to go over to them and tell them how to be, go give them the queer eye speech and see where it gets you.
I would seriusly hold you down and spit in yr ear.

Wow, there are some nasty people commenting on this. People are still so shallow. I guess it's on the daughter to demand her mother respect you. How old is your girl? How could her mother keep her from seeing you?

    • What's so deep about being a pierced doofus & expecting admiration?

      Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Hippeh

Some people are stuck in their ways, It might be hard for her to adjust, but if she's any mother worth having, she'll accept you regardless what you've added to your body.

it's her loss if she decides she wants to be like that.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Why do you expect her parents to like you? You can't be serious, doing what you do to yourself and expecting other people's admiration. If "body modification" is what you want and like then fine. Just don't be so ridiculous in demanding "acceptance."

I'm thinking it quite possible that it's less the "12 piercings and 8 Tatts", but more the fact that you refer to yourself as "DisturbedAngel666" I don't know, I don't care, but I'm sure your "b/f's mum" probably isn't too keen on it.

Well I am 45 and I like some of it but I think there is a point when you can do too much. And you have to remember this kind of thing wasn't around 50 years ago and most people that are my age and older dont have anything unless a guy went into the service and got a tattoo. I would do what you want to do it is your life and your body but if you love your girlfriend then take that into consideration but should you really have to change who you are so someone will love you or like you?

You can express youself any way you want, but you can't avoid the way people react to it.

If you don't like the reaction, then express yourself some other way.

Is this really difficult for you?

tbh, I've never really got body mods, though I do agree that people should respect your decision to have them. However, if you wanna keep up the style, you're gonna have to accept that a lot of people aren't very open-minded to that sorta thing, especially if they are older, and no matter what you're always gonna find someone who objects. Don't let it stop you if you like it though, just learn to ignore the people who don't : )

You use the word, Freak, is this how you see yourself? If so then how can you blame her for seeing you the same way? Most parents want the very best for their children, I know I do. They look at you and wonder what kind of future you have. What kind of a job will you be able to get. How well will you be able to support their daughter. These are all good reasons to look at you and shake there heads. I assume you are young, as very few older people are running around with huge holes in their ear lobes. I further assume that your girlfriend and her family are more main stream. You mention that you like the history and meaning of your self mutilations. However it's not your history! Nore is it her parents history so why should they understand it?

I use the word "freak" in lines! I hate that word when directed, but sure I do know why they don't like the look nor you for what I see. I already got a job, I study fine arts and in prosses of opening a tattoo shop with some friends, but what I ask myself is: why do people just don't respect my life and the life of many others that fallow this? I guess you may see it as a trend, fashon, or even bitter "it's just a kids thing" but I've been influenced by older people and I know what a 3" septum hole means, and as you say "my history" well is there some colture that you idolize or respect? Cause I do: Mayas, Thailand, New Zealand natives and many others.
But the big question is: why can't people respect my way of life as I respect theirs?
I know more than one older men that have been doing these "mutilations" for 30 and even more years and say that this judgment will grow into a mess*

as I do understand you thoughts
Just for a second try to see my point of view
      :)
