My girlfriend won't cook me dinner, and this pisses me off!!!

first off, i have been living with this girl for 3 years now. she got pregnant and i put her up to live with me. i work 2 full time jobs and she stays at home with the kid who is almost 2. i generally work 12-16 hour consecutive shifts and when i come home i would like for her to cook me dinner but she gives me a shit ton of flack and says that she is not my servant and that her job is hard enough without having to listen to me whine.

i think, for all of the work that I do, i deserve to be cooked dinner so i can take a nap before my next shift, iin?

What Avante-Garde said. She's doing a tough job too, and it's fun to take turns cooking for each other.

Maybe she thinks you're being demmanding about it or that you don't appreciate what she does raising your child. Maybe do something small and nice, compliment her now and then and let her know you appreciate what she does, and maybe shell be more willing to compromise.

Or maybe not, I don't know her, but good communication is always the key :)

Maybe working two full time jobs isn't enough to at least earn me a sandwich? I hear that a lot.

Oh certainly, but you have to approach the situation with a bit of finesse. Dealing with a toddler all day can really put a person on edge, and if you piss her off it'll be harder to convince her o.o

I'm all for female equality but I don't feel it would be making her your "servant" asking for dinner, since she wanted to be a stay at home mom.. Since technically the home stuff is her job since you're working all day.

Also that's a rough shedule :/ I hope you can find something better in the near future, damn shitty job market.

Very good way of putting it, approach with a little finesse.

Women have taken care of toddlers for thousands of years and it never prevented them from cooking. She would have to cook for her and the kid too so why be mean and not include a portion for the hubby? It's just feminazi crap.

Like stated before she should make you dinner, but if she refuses there is basically nothing you can do. I assume she does a good job being a mother and a wife overall, in that case you would be a wise man if you would let it go. It's definately weird and selfish of her not to do it, but you simply cannot force her without endangering your relationship. Tough luck though, such a selfish bitch.

You have every right to be pissed. Sorry but she sounds like a lazy bitch. You guys should switch spots, and see how she likes it. I always cook my man dinner, nightly, its a given. He treats me so good and doea a lot for me, so its the least I can do.

Used to but I had to take more hours at work beginning this year because she wanted a bigger apartment.

In that case it would be a nice gesture if she made you dinner and from everything else youve said she sounds like she feels entitled to everything. Im sorry. I make my boyfriend dinner when he come home from work. So does he but i dont get as many hours at work so im home more. I dont see why she wouldnt want to make you happy, especially when shes the one who wanted a bigger place.

It's understandable that you're angry, but think about it this way. She has to deal with a toddler all day while you go to work. Yes, your job may be stressful but nothing is as stressful as taking care of a kid, you get the better end of the bargain.

She's stressed out like you. But maybe the two of you could take turns cooking for each other? It might give you some time to bond. If not, then you eat elsewhere but your kid would see less of you.

I dont know how to put this. I go to work at 12 a.m. and go to my second job at 8 a.m. and come home at 4-5 p.m. and I have to go to work at 12 a.m. I am hoping she will make me something to eat because I need to sleep. If I dont get my sleep and performance poorly at work because of it I lose my job and her life will get tougher having to raise a child on the streets. I work about 60-70 hours a week so she can stay at home because that's what she wanted to do. How do I not deserve at least a sandwich?

Of course you deserve a sandwich. Here's what you do: Take out a plate. Put two slices of bread on the plate. Add some meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, or other filling of your choosing. Eat the sandwich. Have a nap. Give your girlfriend a hug and stop treating her like she's useless.

If you don't like working so many hours, talk to her about her getting a part time job. You could send the kid to daycare or take turns looking after him.

          Great theory.
The kid is at his aunts house during the day until she goes to work at five. Those were the only conditions that the DSS worker would accept for when I am not home. She only deals with the kid from about five until when Auntie or grandma comes to get him.
she wont get a job. She sits at home all day watching HBO. I think that the least she can do is cook a fucking meal. She's going to find herself homeless if she does not get a job soon anyway. I found out she cheated on me again. The lease expires in July. If she doesn't get a job her parents wont take her and I'm getting joint custody of the kid shared with her aunt.

Fuck her. You can judge me all you want. I was cool with her until a few months ago. If she wont watch the kid and she wont cook the least she can go is not fuck other guys. I used to feel so bad for her. Not anymore.

Try to convey to her that you're equals and if she made you a sandwich that wouldn't make her your slave or you could go to a deli and buy a sandwich.

I work the same amount of hours a week as you, and I know exactly what your saying (minus having the kid). Sucks, but you won't change her mind.

  • I agree completely with you, especially with you working 2 full time jobs. Its just the way women are today for some reason, they refuse to cook, most of them look at you like you grew a second head if you even bring the subject up.

Fuck her, cook yourself dinner and ignore her.

She wont even clean the house and she barely watches the kid. Her aunt has to clean the house and DSS has been called because of her piss poor parenting. I dont know if I want to date again if I ever leave her.

So Now it's 3+ years later, surely these people have long ago split up and now he raises the kiddo with a sexy chick that cooks and cleans right.... That's how mine went down when I shook off the dead weight, now I own my home and have 5 little ones and a my wife works and still makes dinner everyday. What a useless cunt.

Say to her: "If you don't make me dinner tonight, the child might wind up missing..."

    She'll probably make you dinner.

Of course it's normal. You'll get a shit ton of LAZY FUCKING CUNTS who think that raising a kid is the same as a full time job. It fucking isn't. I raised my niece and nephew while my father worked (long complicated custody story), and it was incredibly hard. Yet I still managed to cook all their food, and dinner later on for me and the family.

Women who won't do it are lazy. Stupid whores who were told by their stupid whore mothers that just because they have a pussy they don't need to do anything.

I'm guessing this girl of yours doesn't clean either? Probably does nothing to help? Wouldn't be surprised if she sat on the couch half of the day while the baby played.

But I'm with other people, you won't win this battle. If you're not married, get out now. Pay child support, and see the kid as much as possible so he doesn't think his father doesn't love him. But dump this lazy cunt. If she doesn't work a REAL job, there's no excuse.

I hate so much when women compare sitting at home taking care of a kid to an actual job. I've done both. I'd pick sitting at home taking care of kids 100% of the time. Plus it's only one kid, which is even fucking easier.

What kind of job allows you to sit in front of the TV all day getting fat and doing absolutely nothing? OH! I know! Raising kids!!!

Dump the cunt, and find a woman who will carry her share. You're dealing with a girl, not a woman.

And I'm sure some LAZY woman will respond with "it's not the same, it's your niece and nephew". Yes it is the same. They live here. They're not going anywhere, and I do all the same shit a parent does. Try again.

Also you can try to argue, but everything I said is a fact.

THE ONLY EXCEPTION I can think of, is if the child is a special needs child. ie: mentally retarded, autistic, some form of serious illness, etc.

Gotta say this sounds like a communication problem on both your parts. Your GF might be feeling like you don't value her because she isn't working.

If you want her to make you dinner:

Tell your GF that you think she works just as hard as you (even if its a lie- make it convincing). Tell her you appreciate her.

Ask her to tell you about her day and listen without saying anything or judging.

Make an effort to do these things every day for a week. At the end of the week say, "I'm really exhausted. Do you think you could make dinner tonight? Maybe next week I'll make dinner and we can trade on and off?"

    See what she says.

Im a female and she should cook for you she is in the wrong sorry u have to deal with the unnecessary stress... If she doesn't know how she should learn culturally it's a women's ... I don't now why some women don't cook... It's appalling it's like saying you don't want to clean
