My girlfriend is as old as my nephew, is that normal?

My girlfriend and i have known each other for about 2 years, and recently started seeing each other, despite our age difference shes 17, im 20.I genuinely like her and possibly see a future with her, and even though i have to wait for her to be of legal age, id wait for her (only a few months). The other day we were having a conversation about our families (more like telling each other stories and reminiscing about funny moments, things like that)and i mentioned my nephew who just happens to be a year younger than her, hes 16. She at first was kind of surprised by this considering theyre old enough to date and hes my nephew and all (theyve never met by the way [or yet i should say]), but i never really gave it much thought and didnt think it was a big deal. Even tho shes closer in age with him, she and I have more in common and are a perfect match for each other. Is this normal?

    Way normal. My bf is 7 years older than me and we get along great!! Ever tho I'm younger than his brother and cousins. It's weird but no one cares. 3 years is nothing!! You will be fine :)

    Anyway to the comment. My parents are 3years apart and everyone in my family is close to the same age. Age is but a number.

    I dated a guy whose son was closer to my age than he was. Age doesn't not matter and your only 3 years apart now anyway so that's nothing

    Well, your nephew isn't too far from your age himself, I would guess it's normal for him to be close in age to your girlfriend, unless you start dating a 60-year-old :)

    Yeah, of course its normal. My Mom and Dad are five years apart, but back then it was alright. And a three year difference is nothing.

    It's fine. My best friend has a cousin who is 20 years older than us. His partner is seven years older than us. It doesn't really matter.

    It is fine if there is a small age difference like that. 2-3 years differences aren't bad. If however, that the age difference is 8+ years then you have a problem.
