    Yes that is completely normal. Often the loss of a pet is just as difficult as losing a family member, because they can give unconditional love. After we had to put our lab retriever to sleep last July; I cried really hard the day she passed. And I was sad for a few days after our border collie passed in 2008. People have different ways of grieving, and they cope in different timelines. Just try to be there for her and love her as much as possible.

    I recently lost my dog Bene (benny) and It was pretty hard for a while, especially because I grew up with him. Give her some time to go through the stages and she will be okay
