My friends keep asking me if i'm a rape victim?

My friends keep asking me if I'm a rape victim and I'm not so I ask why they keep asking me and they tell me I act like one? Is it normal to act like a rape victim when you've never been raped? I don't understand how I even act like one, like I asked them how I act like one and they were like, "You just do."

Are you often wary around strangers, particularly men? I wasn't raped but I was sexually assaulted by an older man. He wasn't a stranger actually, he was a family acquaintance. The experience sort of changed me, like I'm a lot more careful now. Have you ever experienced anything traumatizing, even non-sexual? You don't have to answer if it's too personal, it's just that experiences change people and it often shows.

WTF?! How does a rape victim act? People act to trauma in many different ways and trauma is not only caused by rape. Like said in some of the previous comments, perhaps a rumour was started if not than they're stereotyping a horrible occurrence. It's almost like the stereotyping people with mental illnesses have to deal with. This isn't normal at all! Is it only your friends that treat you this way? Do other people around you act differently towards you? Investigate!

    ...Your friends are fkn creepers.

Well, rape victims typically act like normal people. You can never really tell a person has been raped by interacting with them.

A lot of molestation/rape victims find ways to be self destructive if they don't resolve their issues, but this kind of behavior is typical of any trauma.

Everyone is different, but some victims of rape exhibit a lot of anxiety as a result, like being overly cautious or perhaps fidgety, maybe having trouble being in certain situations, and some people think that they can "diagnose" people as having been assaulted based on those kinds of behaviors. But the fact of the matter is that, as previously stated, everyone is different; furthermore, there are numerous things that can cause those kinds of behaviors, so I think it's very unreasonable of your friends to say that you "act" like a rape victim.

I wouldn't call it normal. Is it some kind of inside joke that you've forgotten? I don't think rape victims all act the same. I'd ignore it for now, and if they really do get too worried, I'd ask someone else for help. Preferably not an Internet forum.

I have no idea how a rape victim acts. Are you showing a lot of insecurities around men? Or just not interested in men at all? I don't understand this and I am curious as to what you do that makes them think this?

Or are your friends just jerks and messing with your head?

What? Well i don't know how a rape victim is expected to act but you can't just ask people if they've been raped. What's wrong with your friends.

"Oh hey Mitch, did you see that game. Great huh. So... got any trauma that you wanna talk about? Mitch don't be like that's it's not awkward, we're all friends. So... did anyone give you a bad touch?"

My guess is that you might've had a rumor spread behind your back and your friends are investigating.

all people take it differently. i know 2 people who've been raped one of them you can sort of tell as she avoids most convos, she avoids hugs and any sort of tourching like holding hands and stuff and she is now a very quite person. where as the other person acts the same as she did before but it did take her months to get back to her normal self. maybe your friends just need to step back and realise thats just the way you are and it's not because you've been raped or something like that...
