ok im 19 im a dancer and im into emo/scene styles, i feel comfortable. Second part now, my friends dont accept my style e.g hair, eyeliner, piercing's and i dont know if thats a normal reaction.. or not ?
What ToddStellar said. If these people were really your friends, they wouldn't be embarassed of you and they would still love you despite your style. P.S. My style is emo/indie and it ROCKS, so seriously... your friends are silly.
Your friends should except you for who you are, and if not, find people you relate to more.
Emos are faggy attention whores! <-- That's what I think... If you feel like an Emo that's fine but showing that you belong to a group by piercing yourself or dyeing your hair is just stupid!
If you need attention... KILL YOURSELF!
Haha calm down =P I didn't want to seem rude... I wasn't serious... (To the OP): I think you should wear whatever you like no matter what your friends say as long as you're happy with it! I don't like scenes like Emo, Raver or whatever but nevermind... Just do what you want!
im not doing anything to get attention. i feel comfortable with the way i dress/look. im not depressed. i mean life sucks i deal with my problems. i just dont know if i should cater to my friends or just keep doin me..
i wont go that far, they just need to grow up a lil, cause the emo/scene kids are annoy, just cause they are like 80% a trend. if you feel that way is fine, but it is the against that mind set of a truely sensitive and emotional person to wanna be part of some wannabe goth kids. it insults the real goth kids and the real sensitive people.
But Emo chicks are so hot you say, yeah maybe, but i still doesnt change the fact that most of those people tha follow that tread are sort fake. not all, but for most it will just be an embarassing phases they went thru in their youth
They are not your friends if they want you different...dont change! I changed for the others and now i am not happy :-(
it's normal for your friends to dislike your fasion sense, but as long as they're still nice to you then you shouldn't care.
Its human nature to not respond well to things people might consider out of the ordinary but if your friends truely and genuinely appreciate your friendship they will accept you for who you are. That doesn't mean they'll come to like your sense of style but good friends will be able to see past that. Talk it over with them in detail and eventually (if they're good friends) they'll come to accept you.
I actually quite like the style even though I don't really dress that way myself.
People shouldn't really make such of a big deal about how you look.
If they are your true friend they will accept you for who you are no matter what you dress or look like. Maybe it's time to find new friends or talk to them about how it's making you feel. No one deserves to be treated differently by their appearance. It's a form of discrimination.
Well, usually Emo and Scene kids hang out with each other. I used to follow those two styles, and I had alot of Emo and Scene friends. I had a few "normal" looking friends, and they all basically judged my style.
