My friend won't talk to me....normal?

I'm a 19 year old female and Me and my best friend have known each other since we were six years old, we go to different universities and we Skype twice a week. One night I was talking to him for HOURS, we were having such a good time making jokes and having a laugh. The conversation suddenly turned to how far apart we were, he told me that he wished I could move universities so we could hang out, because neither of us have many friends where we are. I said I wished I could move too, because I feel pretty alone at uni, I'm a bit of a black sheep in different ways. Then he said something really strange, he told me that if I moved or vice versa then we could be alone together, which I found pretty sweet actually if not a bit peculiar. I said that we wouldn't really be alone because well there'd be us two so we'd kinda be semi alone. He said yeah that's true and went silent for a while. 10 minutes later he started another joke and we were laughing again.

I tried to skype him again the next day and he responded with Hi and How are you and all that but then he stopped talking and suddenly went offline, Same for the next two times I tried to skype him. I know our conversation was a bit deep but we've had many deep talks before about a lot of personal things so I didn't find it too strange, is it normal he's stopped talking to me?
