My friend wants to throw a vial of rubidium into my classroom

My friend is pretty much a psycho and does a lot of messed up stuff, we take chemistry together and he just likes to screw around with chemicals, the alkali metal rubidium is extremely explosive when it comes in contact with water and explosions can kill within 50m, my friend stole a vial of it from Nottingham university when we visited there for a trip, a 30 gram vial, he says he'll throw it on The ground in chemistry next Wednesday, he has no clue what this could do, he could literally take out half the school with 30 grams, I tried taking it off him but he says if I try to he'll throw it, I'm really worried, I got in trouble from the police when I said he had it, they said no way a student could get rubidium. What the hell should I do?

It might cause a little fire, but is unlikely to explode.

It's explosive when reacting with water, but the reaction to air isn't particularly dangerous.

Even if he threw it in water, 30g will create an explosion, but no where near powerful enough to "take out half the school". He'd probably hurt himself more than anybody else.

And he'll be kicked out of school for it.

      • You can't sell stuff that'll cause direct harm to someone, shame we would've gotten like 2.79 BitCoins for it all

Tell someone, tell whoever you can. Get off IIN, because nobody on here can help you with this because none of us know you, the kid, what Rubidium is, where your from, or who you are. You say the police did not believe you which is messed up if it's true. Tell your parents, they can talk to the police as well. They'd believe you if your parents were there with you. If not, tell the principal, alert the teachers to this, do whatever you can to make sure that the authorities know that this kid is up to something. This is a very, very serious matter if it's true. I don't know what Rubidium is, never heard of it, but it sounds like something extremely dangerous and whether this kid knows it or not he's going to either seriously harm himself or somebody else.
