My friend's aunty married her dad, iin?

My story is short. I find it hard to cope with the fact that my friend's aunt married her father.. Some people might even find it not serious because it might not sound like a big deal. But to tell the truth, I've been feeling very uncomfortable, very difficult to deal with it. It is not even in my family, but I've only seen this kind of story on the media, now that I know it happens right in my close friend's family, I feel super hard to be normal again, with her and with her family. I want to stop being frustrating! Please help me. Tell me if the story itself is normal or my feelings are normal. I haven't stopped feeling sick in my body since I was told the story. I've tried to look up other cases about man married sister in law but they just make me feel worse. Please help me stop this.

Rrrr sent and wont let me edit. I meant to say this would be like breaking up with your boyfriend and dating his brother. This might cause an uncomfortable situation but it is in no way illegal/related/ gross

I don't see the problem with this and know of cases where it has happened. It is certainly not illegal in the UK and if it were illegal where you are, they would not have been able to get married!

    Has your friend's mother died?

This dates back to Biblical times when a man could marry two sisters but a woman could not marry two brothers!

I assume you're friend knows her aunt well so it's just an extended family living together now.

Don't make your friend feel like she or her family are freaks. It's not you living there so worry about your own life.

Yeah, I don't think cousins by marriage are prohibited from marrying. In fact, where I live, you can marry your second-cousin (even if from the same bloodline) It's not THAT weird. If your friend's father and aunt were close and knew eachother pretty well...and were at the age where they just wanted to have someone they cared about in their lives, then that's their business. Your friend needs some explanation and help through the process, maybe - but you need to worry about your own life and not fuel your friends apprehensions.

    1) stop reading about crap that u don't like
    2) it has nothing to do with you, as it is not your family.
    3) If it u really want to do something about it, call the cops, it's illegal.
    4) far worse things happen in the world

many people know about it!! why hasn't anything happened yet if you are right that that's illegal? I need to cope with it because she's a close friend, I like her very much. But first I need to feel normal and act normal. If someone can help with my case by providing references (legislation articles).. that would mean a lot to me. I've found some but they are way too old (somewhere in 1950s), it was about man allowed to marry sister in law if his wife had passed away

HELLO ppl it says sister INLAW!! Huge difference and not at all related or illeagle. In fact if he is married to her he must not be married to her sister anymore so she is not even his sister in law. If you are not legally married you do not/ no longer have IN LAWS ( hence the name)

Trying ringing your nearest police station and they will be happy to answer ur concerns. You will not act normal because it isn't. It's nasty. I don't think you should worry your self too much as that is the best way to stop feeling shit. It's sickening what they did but some people are just weird.

If he's just a step-father then as much as you dislike it... it's legal.

If he's her biological father... tell her i think she's kinky. ;)
