My friend lies to me about her nationality, while i know the fact.

I have a friend on Facebook, and we grew close to each other without knowing anything, but just the fact that we were nice to each other. Eventually, we became good friends, who actually care.
She says herself to be Japanese. At first, it was believable, but later I found out that she is Indian. I dont want to hurt her, neither I want to arise any guilt inside her by admitting that I know the truth.
Is it normal for me to behave like that.. ?? Am I Overcautious about things? What should I do..??

Well I wouldn't say anything unless it becomes a direct problem and you know this to be 100% accurate.
The things people will lie about amuses me.
She sounds a bit insecure. honestly id try to help her, but that's just me.

I knew this girl online who liked me alot, and she pretended to be able to play the piano as good as I do (I do gamecovers btw).
She kept on sending me covers of games such as FF, Zelda, Chrono Trigger, and claimed they were her recordings.

Anyhow, I found out by browsing youtube one day, searching for covers of those songs, and multiple times I found recordings that I found sounding extremely like hers. I sync-played them (multiple ones) and they were exactly alike.

Turns out she wanted to impress me very badly.

That's sad to hear. I hope she gets her shit straight and quits lying. It's just not a way to live.
        Sorry to hear that bud.

I'm alright now, was a few years ago but she ment alot to me.
Getting into a proper relationship, and meeting alot of new friends kinda brought me back up, but at the time, it messed me up pretty badly.

Thanks for your concern mate (:

There's a show called True Life. They had a episode where people were keeping a secret about themselves and one of them was a biracial girl. Her mother was Caucasian and her father was of African decent. Her secret was that she was part African, but lied and said that she part Cuban. She had being doing this for years and studied up on it so she could have the perfect story. She was scared how her friends would react to it and towards the end she told them. They didn't care and they knew she was lying. I found her reason for this to be silly, but perhaps your friend has better reason for this. She sounds very insecure. I think you should continue being friends and let her know that you support her. With time she may tell you her reasons why. Good Luck.

It's hard to be brown on the net. Tough lesson all people need to learn though is that if people don't accept you, there's only a little chance of them doing so in the future, so it's better if they get to know in the beginning.

Try giving her subliminal messages, say things like you would love to visit India one day, that you are fascinated by Indian culture, or that you find Indian people to be very good looking. you might make her rethink her lies. if she has been lying for a long time she might feel she is too deep into her lies to get out.

Sometimes people hide the facts about them.

Maybe there's a good reason from her keeping the truth from you. I'd not say anything and continue the friendship as is
