My friend is pretending she’s not smart

My friend pretends that she isn’t smart. She would tell me she’s worried that she might fail our midterm exam, even though she finished 30 minutes early. Then she pretends that she doesn’t know something and when I’m not looking, somebody else asks her about it and she’d know the answer. She would tell me she did really bad on a test and when I saw her paper, she got a PERFECT score. Why the hell is she doing this? Does she think I’d feel jealous? Does she think that I’d feel miserable just because she got a higher score than me? I mean, there’s nothing wrong in saying that she’s happy because she got a really good score. I’d be happy for her and even ask her for help.

    She may not want to seem better than you. In many cases, people who are friends with those gifted in academics become jealous/resentful over time for whatever reason, maybe this is her way of preventing it; who knows but her?

    In my opinion, you should just ask her one day, and explain how it makes you feel.

    It may be that she really is better than everyone else. That's a good way to lose all your friends.

    I hate these kind of shitheads one of my friend was just like this girl. But in 12th grade he actually failed & that was the karma he deserved.
    & about that girl may be she just don't want to share her answers with ya
