My friend and the tampon story.

It's probably unrelated. It could possibly be a mental/emotional reaction to something - when I first changed my earrings after getting them pierced, I passed out (yay for black eyes :/) and I think it was due to not liking the idea of having a hole in my flesh, and inserting something through that hole. There was nothing physically wrong it was just mental.
How long did she keep it inside her? There is a condition called "Toxic Shock Syndrome", which results if a woman keeps her tampon in her for a long period of time without changing it.
Where was she (I assume your friend is a she) putting it on, her head? I think that might make anyone a bit light headed.
She sound's like a real genius! She probably forgot to take the first one out! silly little peasant girl!
