My first lover was the same age as me. We were both about 11. I know neither of us had pubic hair at the time. He was very handsome, and we did everything except anal. We loved to kiss and there was lots of tongue action. I don't know where we got the idea - perhaps it was a sleepover - but we carried on with our "affair" for about a year.     Same sex experimentation is fairly common in adolescence, even amongst those who go on to identify as heterosexual. My theory as to why is because at this age most people become curious about sexual activities and their close friends are typically of the same sex and just as curious, therefore non-romantic “I won’t tell if you don’t” experimentation ensues. It cuts out the social minefield of finding a date and seducing them.

    In terms of age 11 is young to begin such activities, however how you feel about it in retrospect is for you alone to decide.
