My fiance doesn't want a son?

My fiance and I have been talking about having children in the future, and he is adamant about NOT wanting a son. It has to do with his past and not wanting to raise a child like he was raised. But he's so set on not having a son that he wants to get invitro to make SURE we have a girl once we're ready for kids.

I'm worried about what might happen if we have an unplanned pregnancy and it turns out to be a boy. Is it normal?

    It's not normal. Convince him to go to therapy and see if it can help him deal with his childhood and what not. Its quite impossible to choose the sex of your baby unless you go to a lab, but that's very expensive. What would happen if you gave birth to a son? Would he put it up for adoption? If you adopted, you could prevent problems from arising...

    I feel the same way. But what you can do is tell him that if he has a son that he can treat him better than how he was treated (if he was abused by his father)

    I'm the same way. If I ever have a kid I really wouldn't want a boy. But at that point you kinda have no choice.

    that'S obessive. it's alot more then "i'd rather have..." if he had a past and he doesn'T want to do that to his "son", maybe he could do it to his "daughter" cuz he won't feel like it as much as HIM as a child... careful.

    Not really. No. He obviously has some issues he needs to sort out in therapy hon. But if he's THAT adamant you could use a geneticist to make sure you get a son. In the meantime? Get on BC.
