My fear of mirrors

Okay so when i was about 13-ish, i was looking in a full length mirror in my bathroom, messing with my makeup and hair like any young girl. I felt really cold all of a sudden, and then i felt something pushing down on my back, something heavy. I tried to ignore it and looked back in the mirror, i noticed that my eyes were a dark shade of blue (they are supposed to be dark brown) and i was really pale. Then i saw a weird black figure in the corner of my eye, standing in my shower. I ran out of my bathroom screaming and i actually hid in my wardrobe. It never happened again, but ever since that day i refuse to look at any mirror, has this happened to anyone before?

ok I guess I'm the only one here who can relate.
When I was around 8 or something I was in the laundry looking in the mirror, the mirror is a long lone but doesn't quite reach the floor.

I suddenly saw a black figure behind me on the far end of the room.
I swung around and it was gone, I got out of there as fast as possible.

It took me years and years to be able to even glare into it, especially at night. In fact I'm 14 now and only last year did I look into that mirror and didn't freak.

I understand that it could take you ages to work up the courage to look into it again.
But believe me, whether ot not it was your imagination or 'something else' you just need to believe that it won't hurt you, go into the bathroom and just look into the mirror, what I did was turned off the light and put on a smaller light so my fear would be stopped faster, and just looked all of the room in the reflection, proving that there was nothing in there.
I'm sure it will work for you too =)

You should go see a doctor immediately. This could be a small degree of psychosis, perhaps leading to schizophrenia. Look at a mirror! FIGHT IT!

Or maybe you have a spirit! I know, sounds crazy, but I personally believe in the possibilities of spirits interacting with humans. I personally have a fear of mirrors as well, just not severely, I dislike looking in them afraid I might see something I really don't want to. You could look into spirits if you really believe that, or as other commenter s have stated, it was just your imagination. Both are possibilities in my opinion, but not everyone shares my beliefs, I suppose.

Have you ever played Bloody Mary with your friends? You can get so worked up that you actually think you see something and freak out even though nothing is there.

Something similar happened to me once. I was driving home late one night, and I suddenly saw this dark figure on somebody's lawn, staring at me. It freaked me out so much, I almost swerved off the road, and my heart started pounding a million miles an hour. It looked like one of those ring wraiths from Lord of the Rings or something! The next day I drove by in the sunlight and saw that it was a tree.

Even now, knowing that it's just a trick of the shadows, I still get a little scared driving past there. Maybe you thought you saw something scary, and even just remembering it is enough to still freak you out a bit.
