My family doesnt support what i wear?

Alrighty, so my style is pretty much punk (I'm a girl), I have blue hair and usually dress in darker colors. My grades are high and i have an awesome group of friends who aren't really punk. I feel most confident while i dress this way and i love it! my parents on the other hand think I'm depressed and hate seeing me dress in such a way that some people find threatening or scary. I don't know if i should change for them to accept me or not... :/

Do your own thang and don't worry about there opinion 18

  • I say fuck other peoples needs. Dress how you want. I like the punk rock look too. I would rather live how I want than live to please society.

What is it about blue hair and dark punky clothes that you like so much?

Well when i wear any other style I feel like I'm wearing a costume or pretending to be someone else. I just don't feel as comfortable and am happiest in what i wear and look like now! :D

I recommended compromising. Your parents probably know you'll grow out of it, so their concern is probably more situational. When they take you places that are more geared towards adults, try to tone it down some. When you're around friends and places geared towards younger people, go for it and express yourself.

If your parents are supporting you, I would suggest you respect their wishes as long as you are in their household. Once you are self sufficient and on your own, you will have a lifetime to 'be yourself'.

be true to yourself, you are making choices for yourself, you are mature and intelligent so stick with your own dress code In time they will come to realize what clothes people wear especially young does not make them: It is who they are in the clothes that matter Having a healthy mind in a healthy body

    I say try to compromise.

It's fine to have your own fashion sense, but it really depends on the setting.

If you enter an environment that requires you to look professional the blue hair might give a bad impression.
