My earring destroyed my ears and neck

Hi, I am 20 years old and I have pierced my ears a week ago. However now I have purple pus filled lumps all over my ears and down my neck. I went to see a doctor, but he said it was fine and he recommended 3 glasses of water per hour. I'm not sure if that even helps, is this normal when you pierce your ears?

  • Piercing should be done only by a trained professional please do not try this at home

My friend pierced her ears over 20 times by herself, and that never happened. Go see a doctor!

i do all my piercings myself (currently i have 27) and ive learned quite a few things from piercing them nothing like this has ever happened to me it could be an allergic reaction, but it sounds way more serious than a mild infection, ear infections mainly just become irritated, hurt, bleed a lot and sometimes puss or a liquid will come out of them. my suggestion take them out piercings are clearly not for you.

You probably have contact dermatitis. It is very common. Buy non-allergenic earrings that are nickel-free.

You may be allergic to the type of jewellery you have used. Try titanium.

my brother had mrsa. it's one big bump on your face or where ever the mrsa is. its a big infection with puss all in it that needs to be squeezed out.

most likely whoever pierce your ears didn't use stainless steel or real gold or silver earrings. You have an infection or allergy. May need some bendryll, but visit a GOOD doctor, not the one you went to.

i agree with mermaidgirl!! get a second opinion while its still fresh. keloids are permanent and very unpleasant to look at, my cousin has them on both ears. even aftr surgical removal chances r high to grow back!!

if you consumed 3 glasses of water (8 oz or larger) you would die. unless you can continually piss a gallon an hour, then you should be fine.

Hm, I know some in some people scars and piercings turn to keloids... Look it up on wikipedia and google/google images. But hearing how they seem to have formed in a cascading formation I'm not sure if keloid scars necessarily form like that...

I wouldn't wait to see if your blisters get better. I would get a second opinion and maybe the doctor will prescribe antibiotic medication. You might have an infection due to unsterilized earrings or piercing gun. Or perhaps you're having some sort of allergic reaction... regardless infections and adverse reactions are easier to treat when detected early. I would definitely not wait.
