My desire for cake.

Ever since the age of 1, I've had an insatiable desire for questing. It started on the day I saw a delicious cake sitting atop the table. I knew I had to get that cake. I had to get it for myself, & to make a stand for all the other cakeless babies out there! This would be the day that the best food in the world - cake - would be ours!

On that cold day of only 93degrees, I threw my diaper on the ground as it was only slowing me down. I didn't have time to be slowed down! I worked my way up a makeshift stepladder comprising of a stool & a whole bunch of cardboard boxes that my mum let me make a house with(big mistake mum!).

While my mum was at the grocery store buying some other ingredients to make some food to keep all to herself & give me yet another baby-sized portion, I climbed atop those boxes & got to the cake & shoved my face into it(mostly because I wasn't sure how food-eating worked at the time).

Regardless, I recorded the occasion in perfect clarity - in 1080p - then proceeded to 1080pee myself.

Spring was never waiting for us 'til it ran one step ahead
As we followed in the dance

MacArthur's park is melting in the dark
All the sweet green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it 'cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again, oh, no

I recall the yellow cotton dress foaming like a wave
On the ground beneath your knees
Birds like tender babies in your hands
And the old men playing Chinese checkers by the trees

MacArthur's park is melting in the dark
All the sweet green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it 'cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again, oh, no

Hahaha, awesome. You might enjoy this: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/10/god-of-cake.html

It's a wonderful blog post about one child's quest for cake. She was four at the time, not one, but her obstacles were greater and her victory just as sweet.
