My daughter is now 15 and she tends to walk around the house naked or in just her underwear. My husband and I get on her about it all the time, but she don't seem to care. I don't know if she will grow out of this or get worst.
I sleep naked in bed and only walk around naked from bed to the toilet if it's not too cold, if it is cold I put on a dressing gown, in the UK the weather is not really suitable for anyone to go around naked, even in the house, however, they say sleeping naked is quite healthy for you and a little sexy as well.
As if a 15 year old is going to believe it will happen to her and in any case, she's not walking around naked 24/7, only in the house

Its not a big thing, Its not something which is a problem. Nakedness is not something to be scared of. From the age of 8 or 9 i remember my mum and dad walking around naked, but only upstairs. I am now 30 live in a house with two housemates which are females, i was here first and i wore a dressing gown for the first week or so then forgot and came out of my room to get to the bathroom with just boxers on and one of my housemates saw me, later in the day i said sorry and she said she wasn't worried, so i carried on the other housemate does the same now as well. So we all walk around in our underwear with no problems. The lock on the bathroom door has been broken for the last month so we have all seen each other naked now. The other morning we all came out our rooms at roughly the same time and used the bathroom at the same time, just doesnt seem strange any more, i was in the shower, they were doing makeup and brushing teeth etc.

Most if not all people will be nude when taking a shower or a bath but some shy teenagers might wear swimming trunks or something over their private parts when taking a shower at school, of course, I have not been in school for a long time, back in the late 50's and early 60's when I was at school I and my school mates didn't think twice of ever wearing anything after football or PT/PE when taking a shower naked, perhaps it's different now.

It's not abnormal for someone to walk around naked, either she sees no reason to be ashamed of her body or she's just too lazy to put clothes on, either way it's not that strange.
On the other hand you're her parent, and if you think it's innapropriate that's your right, if I was you I'd try to ease her out of it. Make sure she understands it's innapropriate to do it outside or with guests, and maybe tell her she's free to hang out naked in parts of the house you don't frequent, or even just her room. She'll feel less like you're crushing her freedom and you won't have to see it.
Theres different approaches to this. Its normal, but can be awkward. Obviously, she feels comfortable doing it. But it makes you and your husband uncomfortable. It's your house so it's your rules. When she gets her own place she can walk around in what she wants. My parents were the opposite to you, they walked around with nothing on, and I didn't want to go to nudist beaches with them when I was thirteen. they still had rules tho. which I had to follow. Then when I got my own place I made my own rules. I don't have a problem with nudity, but if it is upsetting someone in their own home then that is wrong, and she is just pushing the boundaries...
make her feel proud that she is not a little girl anymore teach her about limits and tell her she needs to respect her body b/c she is at an age where privacy is to protect her and this is something she needs to practice. have your husband explain why it makes him uneasy. then if she keeps doing it, you need to make her go see a counselor or take something like her cell phone away until her behavior changes. don't make her feel dirty though, just teach her the birds and the bees and she'll understand. you have done that haven't you?
It is not normal for someone to walk around naked in front of their family members. At least not in america. my grandma and dad walked around naked and it made me feel uncomfortable. I think its weird. People need to think how they make others feel when they walk around naked. Does she have sensory issues? She may have an aversion to certain clothing, perhaps buying something more natural like loose cotton clothing she might wear that. There's a book about sensory defensiveness called Too Loud, Too Bright, Too Fast, Too Tight. If this is a sensory issue, I reccomend you read that book.

Teenage girls wearing just underwear is totally normal in their own house with their families or home alone. I'm now 17 and the only period of time I didn't do this was from about 12-15 when I was least comfortable with my body. So if she's doing this and just going about things, it's normal. If she's doing it when there are other people in the house or standing by windows or not wearing any underwear, it's not as normal and if people in the house aren't comfortable with nudism, then it's not ok for her to do that. Explain the difference between these scenarios to her and I agree with SadMostOfTheTime (44895) that asking her to wear boxers or tank tops is a good idea as it will give her comfort and a bit of freedom but isn't as revealing. :)

I used to walk nude during teen age. My mom advised me not to do it when father or bro were at home. Now history repeats that my thirteen years old girl walks around naked. My advice is also same. I myself stay nude at home. Its no problem.
